Do members of MatchBOX Coworking Studio have access to MatchBOX Makerspace and vice versa?
Yes, membership covers full access to both studio and Makerspace.
Can I bring in guest to the makerspace?
Yes, but guests must sign a waiver and cannot use tools or equipment located in the Makerspace. They are welcome to sit with you as you work on their laptop or doing their own work.
Can I bring my kids to the Makerspace?
Yes, but full supervision is required as there are many sharp and potentially hazardous things in the makerspace.
When is the makerspace staffed?
The makerspace is staffed weekdays in the afternoon - also by apt on the weekends and at night - For an apt please email james@mbx.studio to schedule
Can I volunteer at the makerspace?
Yes, if you’re interested in volunteering we do take a few volunteers for various things, please email james@mbx.studio for more information.
Can I bring in my own tools to the makerspace?
Yes, but you are the only one allowed to use them while in the space and they must leave when you do, if they stay in the space overnight without permission they will become property of MatchBOX Makerspace.
Can I rent out the whole makerspace for an event?
We are open to renting the space at night and on the weekends; if you are interested please email james@mbx.studio.
How do we handle supplies such as filament and sheets of acrylic?
We have supplies on hand at the makerspace and our 3D printers are loaded with filament, but our supplies are limited and we use donations from members to purchase supplies as needed. We have many supplies open to members marked with a “suggested donation” where when they use those supplies, they donate the suggested amount.
Yes, we have rentable storage lockers both in the makerspace itself and in MatchBOX Coworking studio (where the makerspace is located).
Can I bring in my own computer and setup of tools?
You’re welcome to bring in a laptop and work from it in the Makerspace. We also have reserve desks available where you get a whole desk that you can leave a computer and you'll have a filing cabinet and drawers for your own tools. This reserve desk is located within MatchBOX Coworking Studio reserve area, right next to the MatchBOX Makerspace.
